As reported by the Scotsman, Aberdeenshire-based Mackintosh of Glendaveny, which was founded by Gregor Mackintosh in 2009, will sell all six rapeseed oils from its range in 64 Tesco shops north of the Border.
Asda already sells the oils in 43 of its stores, with the products being supplied to London?s Dorchester Hotel, as well as Buckingham Palace and Nairn?s cookery school in Aberdeen.
Mackintosh ? who is still only 24 ? is pumping ?250,000 into the production facilities at his family?s farm, splashing out on a bottling line and storage tanks to meet the increased demand from the contracts.
He said that the upgraded bottling line has the capacity to fill up to 11,500 bottles a day, making Mackintosh of Glendaveny the largest producer of cold-pressed rapeseed oil in Scotland.
Mackintosh said: ?It is fantastic to see the full range being launched from the very start of our contract and is also good news for our many independent customers, including hotels, restaurants and delicatessens as they will directly benefit from our product development activity and our new production facilities now in place.?
Angus Bell, category buying manager for Tesco in Scotland, said: ?We met Gregor at the Royal Highland Show last year and his enthusiasm and passion for his products was clearly evident. This is an innovative and exciting range of products and it?s great to be working with Gregor.?
As well as its ?extra virgin cold-pressed? oils, the firm infuses flavours such as garlic, ginger, jalapeno chilli peppers and lemon into its products.
