The country's third largest school system is out of action for a third day as the teachers' strike in Chicago continues, with both sides disagreeing on how close they are to negotiating a settlement. NBC's Kevin Tibbles reports.

A Chicago Public Schools teacher was struck by a car Wednesday morning while picketing during the strike's third day, police said.
Police News Affairs said a male teacher was picketing at 8 a.m. near a school at the intersection of Western and Chicago avenues when he was hit.

The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in an unknown condition.
It's not known whether the driver was injured. The identities of the driver and teacher have not been released.
Police say the incident is under investigation.
Chicago teachers union: Don't hold breath for deal
About 29,000 Chicago Public School teachers walked off th job on Monday after the Chicago Teachers Union and the school board failed to negotiate a new contract. The two sides plan to meet again Wednesday as thousands of teachers picket outside schools across the city for the third day.
