iPhone 5 and iOS 6: Putting the Cloud in Your Pocket

October 2012 General Meeting

Come see Apple's newest 'object of desire' ? the iPhone 5. We will show off the awesome speed of the A6 chip, the ultrafast LTE and wireless, the larger 4-inch display, the new and improved HD FaceTime camera, and the high-resolution Panorama photo mode.

We will show how to create an iPhoto journal on the iPad or iPhone from photos in your photostream, and how to publish them to your iCloud home page for viewing with a web browser.

We will also discuss how to upgrade to iOS 6, together with some new features and apps of iOS 6 such as: Notifications and Do Not Disturb; Messages, iCloud, Mail and the VIP mailbox, FaceTime, Facebook and Twitter integration; and of course, the now infamous Maps app with 3D flyovers and free turn-by-turn instructions.

The meeting will start with our usual Question & Answer session from 9:30 to 10, followed by a coffee break.

We will stream it over the Internet: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wap-general-meeting.

The meeting will be held in Enterprise Hall, Room 178. Directions here: http://www.gmu.edu/resources/welcome/Directions/Directions-to-Fairfax.html#66E
